Theatre & musicals

Eight shows a week is the real test

Theatre technology has a merciless requirement: repetition. The same cues, perfectly, eight times a week for a season. Add moving scenery, radio mics on every principal and a video design woven into the scenography – and reliability becomes the whole game.

Profox delivers technical production for theatre and musicals: design collaboration, installation, programming and the systems that make show 200 identical to opening night.

What we deliver

  • Production light rigs and console programming
  • Sound design support, radio mic systems and orchestra reinforcement
  • Video and projection integrated with the scenography
  • Stage automation and scenery movement with safety systems
  • Show control tying every department to one cue stack
  • Season service so the production stays sharp through the run

    Frequently asked questions

Can you work within an existing theatre’s installations?

Yes – we extend and integrate rather than replace. House systems carry what they can; production equipment covers the rest, and both run from one control position.

How do you handle radio mics for a large cast?

Frequency coordination, redundant receivers and a swap plan rehearsed with the dressers. Twenty-plus channels of wireless is routine when it is planned – and chaos when it is not.

What happens when something fails during a performance?

Critical chains have hot backups, and the crew has rehearsed failure procedures. The audience should never know – and with proper design, they do not.
