Lighting Up TYRA's Final Journey

95% of a 20,000-Tonne Platform, Reused

The green transition is happening across the globe, and Denmark is leading the way on many fronts. In Port of Frederikshavn lies Modern American Recycling Services Europe, a company built to clean up in style, reusing large structures at scale. Now she has arrived on her final journey: 95% of the massive 20,000-tonne offshore platform TYRA is set to be reused.

A Timecoded Story in Light and Sound

Right now, Danish history is unfolding on the quayside as the decommissioning of the large offshore platform TYRA gets underway. Profox was asked to illuminate the TYRA field, which stood in the North Sea for 30 years supplying energy to Denmark, and designed the technical storytelling for two events marking the transformation. To set the scene, the team used over 100 moving lights, video mapping, and a 30 sqm screen, all driven by a timecoded narrative in speech, light and video.
